Have you ever thought about volunteering in a friendly organisation where you can meet new people, gain new experiences and learn about the history of your town?
Many people feel either daunted or curious about the idea of volunteering, so Weston-super-mare museum is holding a Volunteers Day to welcome new volunteers to the group. It will be a chance to meet other current and prospective volunteers, get an idea of the activities that go on at the museum and ask any questions that you might have.
The day will include introductory talks and inductions, training from our Curator, as well as a variety of activities to give everyone an idea of what the different voluntary roles entail.
We are particularly looking for front of house volunteers to take part in visitor engagement activities and volunteers to join our outreach activities, including school visits and reminiscence sessions.
The event will take place on Monday 17th November, there will be a morning session from 11am – 1pm and an afternoon session from 2pm – 4pm. Anyone interested is requested to register their interest and let the museum know which session they would prefer to attend.
For more information or to register for the event, please visit the museum website at www.westonmuseum.org, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01934 621028.
