DESCRIPTION:Heritage Open Days Festival 2023\nDiscover Weston-super-Mare’s heritage for free as sites across the town get ready to welcome visitors between Friday 8 and Sunday 17 September.\nThis is part of England’s largest heritage festival.\nA programme of events can be viewed or downloaded on our website  www.n-somerset.gov.uk/heritageopendays23 \nYou are invited to attend Heritage Open Days; Blakehay Theatre on Saturday 9th September 2023 from 10am – 4pm. \nUnder the theme Creativity Unwrapped\, the Blakehay Theatre will be opening its doors for a day of access all areas this September for Heritage Open Days; with a rare chance to see what happens behind the scenes… \nThe Blakehay Theatre is #MoreThanATheatre and has three varied and versatile spaces – Main House\, Studio Theatre and the Theatre Bar. Explore all of them with a guided backstage tour. \nThe building is unique having been converted into a theatre from an old Baptist church in 1986. Local historian John Crockford-Hawley will be delivering talks on the history of the building in the Theatre Bar. \nAlongside an array of shows and events\, the Blakehay Theatre is home to a collection of weekly studio classes ranging from dance to youth theatre. Heritage Open Days sees the teachers putting on special classes/workshops that you can observe/taster for free. These include Musical Theatre Jazz\, Contemporary and Belly Dance. \n#SupportLocal – meet and chat to companies coming to the Blakehay Theatre in 2023 or even 2024 in the foyer and Theatre Bar about their upcoming shows and events. \nFind out about volunteer opportunities at the theatre by coming and having a chat to our Volunteer Supervisor! \nAmongst all the happenings\, the Box Office will be open for further information or for you to purchase tickets. \nThe Theatre Bar will also be open for the duration for refreshments. \nWe would love to see you\, so please do pop in anytime between 10am – 4pm on Saturday 9th September 2023.
