SUMMARY:Remembrance Sunday 2023
DESCRIPTION:Weston-super-Mare will again fall silent 12th November at 11:00am to remember those who have served the country through our Armed Forces. Grove Park will be packed with thousands of people for Remembrance Sunday. \nA parade of cadets\, military personnel – past and present – scouts and guides will set off from the High Street on Sunday at 10.25am\, accompanied by a band.\nA service\, featuring hymns\, wreath laying and the national anthem will follow.\nA two-minute silence will be observed at 11am. \nPeople attending the service at Grove Park are asked to print off or even better read from their phone an order of service\, which can be found here – Remembrance 2023-Order of Service to ensure there are enough copies for everyone and to save the environment. \nA field of remembrance will be set up to the right of the war memorial\, where people are allowed to leave tributes to the fallen. However\, organisers ask that this is not done during the service.

DESCRIPTION:Committee Agendas & Minutes \n\nAs long as you live or work in Weston\, you may have your say at Town Council meetings\, which take place at the Town Hall in the New Council chamber.\nIf you wish to speak at a meeting please notify us of the subject matter before 5pm on the last working day before the day of the meeting (eg for a Monday meeting this means the Friday before). \nBefore the commencement of the meeting\, the Chairman will invite members of the public to address the Council under the public participation section. This allows a total of 15 minutes for members of the public to speak\, present a petition or ask a question. The time will be split depending on how many people wish to speak\, which in some cases isn’t long\, so you have to be very clear on your leading point and deliver that first. \nAll decisions are made by councillors only and members of the public can’t take part in Council or Committee debate nor in voting on issues.
