Due to the Government coronavirus restrictions, the Weston-super-Mare Service of Remembrance is a pre-recorded film.
The Service was held at the War Memorial in Grove Park and led by Revd Peter Ashman.
Last Post, a 2-minute silence, prayers and the playing of the National Anthem.
Wreaths laid by the Mayor on behalf of the people of Weston-super-Mare, Lord Lieutenant, MP, and Royal British Legion Weston-super-Mare Branch. Due to the coronavirus restrictions the Service was not open to any other individuals, organisations or members of the public.
Individuals and representatives of organisations can lay wreaths at the War Memorial at any time on Sunday 8th November. A Field of Remembrance will be opened adjacent to the War Memorial, for the planting of crosses.
The Mayor, Councillor Mark Canniford, said “The priority has been public safety during the planning of the 2020 Service of Remembrance. Sadly, during the coronavirus outbreak, we have had to alter our traditional service, but understand the need for our community to remember those who have fought and died for our Country. Please stay safe and watch our recording on the 8th November 2020 and Remember them from Home.”
