Weston-super-Mare Town Council are pleased to announced a successful bid to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities ‘Community Ownership Fund’ for an ambitious programme of redevelopment for the Old Town Quarry.

The Old Town Quarry has the potential to grow as a cultural and artistic hub in Weston-super-Mare. Not only home to a diverse range of wildlife, the site has become known as a haven for local artists and diverse events. We wish to develop this further over the duration of our ten-year strategy, working with community partners to achieve this.

Councillor John Crockford-Hawley, Chair of Weston-super-Mare Town Councils Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee says:

“I would like to thank Weston-super-Mare Town Council officers for working so hard to obtain this grant. It is another superb example of a relatively small council achieving outstanding results”.

Weston-super-Mare Town Council is delighted with this fantastic news. Further announcements will be made in the New Year as the project unfolds.
