Weston tree and planting group have an update on this season’s tree planting:
Monday 6th March 2023 – 15 trees will be planted at Baildon Crescent by North Somerset Council, Weston Town Council’s Grounds team and Glendale Services along with volunteers from Osprey Outdoors CIC.
Monday 13th March 2023 @ 10.30am – 7 field maples to be planted, complementing the existing trees on the road. This is open to the public. If you’d like to support with planting, please email Andy at andy.chappel@wsm-tc.gov.uk.
Friday 17th March – Planting on the High Street has been agreed and planting will begin on Friday 17th March @ 10am. Due to the need for mechanical work, this planting will be carried out only by professionals, but you’re encouraged to come along and see the progress as planting begins!
Upcoming event – Guided Tree Walk @ Ellenborough Park West
If you’d like to learn more about your local trees, please come along and join us earlier in the day on the 15th March at Ellenborough Park West @ 11am to hear from our resident tree expert Steve Clark, who will be leading a guided walk around the park, organised by the Town Council’s Wellbeing Officer, Amy Bond.
Before the session, we will meet by the noticeboard at the entrance opposite Corpus Christi school. This event is completely free of charge.
The park has sandy soil and does not get particularly muddy, so the session will go ahead unless conditions are very bad. Any questions please get in touch with amy.bond@wsm-tc.gov.uk.
