Council Members.

The Council is made up of 31 councillors, representing ten wards. Councillors are elected by residents of their ward every four years and take no financial compensation.

Councillors make policy and make important decisions on the Council's budget and how the Council should be run. They are supported and advised by officers (i.e. staff) who work in the various council departments. The officers then implement the Council's decisions.

The councillors are there for you. They can help if you are dissatisfied with a Council service by advising or directing you to someone who can help sort out a problem for you. They are the champions for local issues.

As community leaders, they put forward proposals to improve Weston, and even though they are from differing political parties, they work together in the towns best interests.
