Beautifully Proud will see a month-long programme of events, activities, exhibitions and performances for all ages across multiple venues throughout Pride Month in June.

Working in partnership with local organisations such as the Proud Bar and Community Hub, University Centre Weston, Culture Weston, Pride in Weston and The Stable, Weston-super-Mare Town Council has curated a programme of events throughout June to celebrate Pride Month and encourage both its businesses and residents to celebrate diversity all year long.

As part of Beautifully Proud Weston-super-Mare Town Council will be joining in with the celebrations and flying the Pride flag throughout the month. The Town Council will also be refurbishing a number of the planters and benches around the town centre and beyond to serve as part of the legacy for this Project. Local businesses will also be approached to actively promote their venues as welcoming and inclusive spaces for all. Those who sign up to the scheme will receive a sticker to proudly display to their customers showing their support of a more inclusive Weston-super-Mare.

Younger audiences can enjoy craft workshops at The Stable, a Family Gayme Afternoon at The Stables Games Room and storytelling at Weston Museum.

The Blakehay will be hosting two fabulous Drag Shows and you can also immerse yourself in a Night of Magic, Misfits and Making Stuff Up at The Stables Games Room.

To top it all off, make sure to grab your tickets to the Pride in Weston Weekend event which will be taking place on 1st & 2nd July more information www.prideinweston.com.

Sarah Pearse, Deputy Town Clerk, Weston-super-Mare Town Council – “We are incredibly excited to be part of the Beautifully Proud project. Weston-super-Mare is a diverse and vibrant town and we feel that this programme of events shines a spotlight on what can be achieved through collaborative working. As the Town Council we are always looking for new ways to better support the communities of Weston-super-Mare. With all eyes being on Weston this year as the host of UK Pride, we wanted to take the opportunity to showcase our town as an inclusive and welcoming place for all.”
