Last weekend, Weston-super-Mare came together to mark Armed Forces Day and what a fantastic celebration it was.

Held on the Beach Lawns on Saturday 21 June, Weston’s Armed Forces and Emergency Services Day brought together veterans, serving personnel, cadets, emergency services, community groups, local organisations and residents for a day of remembrance, recognition and celebration. The event began with a parade from the Grand Pier before continuing with a full programme of displays, entertainment and activities throughout the day.

As a community, we are incredibly proud to support Armed Forces Day and to recognise the dedication, courage and sacrifice of those who serve, as well as the families who support them.

The atmosphere across the seafront was exceptional, with thousands of visitors enjoying military displays, emergency services demonstrations, live music, community stalls and family-friendly activities. The event showcased not only the professionalism and commitment of our Armed Forces and Emergency Services, but also the strength of community spirit here in Weston-super-Mare.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Weston Armed Forces Committee, Weston-super-Mare Town Council, Weston BID, volunteers, participants and everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. Events like these remind us of the importance of coming together to honour service, support our veterans and celebrate the people who continue to serve our communities every day.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the celebrations and helped make Armed Forces Day 2025 a memorable occasion. We look forward to continuing our support for the Armed Forces community and welcoming visitors to future commemorative events.
