The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt is an emotive and irreplaceable piece of British social history, comprising of 40 huge panels each, in turn, made up of 8 unique “quilts” commemorating the lives of someone who has died from AIDS designed by their loved ones, friends or family.

The North Somerset LGBT+ forum (Registered charity 1174545) is bringing this unique collection to the Winter Gardens, Weston super Mare, it will be the first time that all 40 panels have been displayed outside of London since 2007 – everyone is welcome to come along and see this incredible exhibition which commemorates the lives lived and lost during this terrible epidemic.

With each panel, we hope to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic, and its history and also to be able to educate the public on how far we have come to treating and hopefully one day eradicating the disease completely.

The event runs from Monday 2nd – Thursday 5th May admission is free.
