Christmas Lights Switch-On event, is on Saturday, 23rd November 2024. This year’s celebration includes new Christmas lights design, featuring the debut of the stunning 8-metre Nordika Christmas tree and the return of EAT Festival.

The festivities will take place across two venues—the Italian Gardens and the Winter Gardens, which will be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with over 100 food and drink producers and makers. From artisanal treats to gourmet delights, visitors can indulge in a culinary adventure that caters to all tastes.

Event Highlights:

Mayor Cllr John Crockford-Hawley leads the Countdown: The Mayor of Weston-Super-Mare and friends will officially switch on the Christmas lights at 5:00 pm, illuminating the town.

Father Christmas All Day: Father Christmas will be present throughout the day to greet children and spread festive cheer.

Live Choir Performances: Enjoy the harmonious sounds of choirs performing beloved Christmas songs during the day. Sing along Christmas songs

Fire Performance at Dusk: As evening approaches, be captivated by a fire performance that will light up the night.

Weston Brass Band: Feel the festive spirit with uplifting tunes from the Weston Brass Band.

DJ & Street Food: Keep warm with delectable street food offerings while a DJ sets the mood with lively music.

EAT Festival: Explore a diverse range of food and drink stalls, showcasing the best local producers and makers.

Weston Brass Band: Enjoy the festive sounds of the Weston Brass Band starting at 4:00 pm. They’ll be performing next to the spectacular Nordika Christmas tree.
Fire Performer: Witness an enchanting fire performance at dusk (4:00 pm) in the Italian Gardens, adding warmth and wonder to the evening.
Father Christmas: He’ll be roaming around all day, bringing festive joy to everyone and likely enjoying food at eat Festivals – look out for him as he makes his rounds! Please note there’s no grotto.
Christmas Lights Switch-On: The official switch-on ceremony starts from 5:00 pm, led by the Mayor. The talented singers from the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts will get everyone in the spirit with Christmas songs as we count down to lighting up the town.
Saturday 23 November, travel is free on bus services 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, 20, 125, 126. Just hop on the bus and travel on the bus for free on these services.
