CHATTING & HEARING ABOUT VOLUNTEERING

Do you want to know more about volunteering in North Somerset?  Then why not come along to the volunteering event at Weston’s Sovereign Centre on Thursday, 19 August between 10am – 4pm.

The Mayor of Weston, Councillor James Clayton will be there at the start together with the following organisations:

  • Voluntary Action North Somerset
  • Reclaim
  • SSAFA
  • Leonard Cheshire
  • Coroners Court Support Services
  • SWAN
  • Weston Museum
  • Changing Lives
  • Guides Dogs for the Blind Association
  • Vita Health Group
  • Sunshine Radio
  • Weston Hospicecare
  • Read Easy
  • NSC Heritage Action Zone
  • NSC Libraries Service

There will be lots to do – quizzes, competitions, colouring for the children, freebies plus you’ll be able to chat with volunteers and organisations who have volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering can be very rewarding, can open up doors to employment if that’s what you’re looking for, can give you a sense of achievement, can get you involved in activities that will allow you to develop new skills, can create new friendship opportunities, can help others in your community.

If you’ve got some spare time and are interested in finding a volunteering opportunity, then keep Thursday, 19th August free and come down to Unit 16/17 (next to Wilko) in the Sovereign Centre and have a chat with us.

We’d love to see you!
